2020 NFL Draft Prop Pick

2020 NFL Draft Prop Pick

The 2020 NFL Draft gets underway remotely in less than a day. Time for some NFL Draft prop picks! It will be great to have some semblance of sports back in our lives. After the draft concludes we can start to look at all kinds of futures wagers, criticizing our favorite team’s picks, dynasty fantasy roster construction, and the general NFL fever for the upcoming season. With that, let’s take a quick look at a pick we are generally excited about.

The first 6 teams to pick in this years NFL Draft are:

  1. Cincinnati Bengals – Please, just take QB Joe Burrow.
  2. Washington Redskins – Seem set on DE Chase Young.
  3. Detroit Lions – If they keep the third pick CB Jeff Okudah is a good fit.
  4. New York Giants – Looking to protect their young QB, the G-Men probably take an offensive lineman, Jedrick Wills Jr., or maybe Tristan Wirfs
  5. Miami Dolphins – Need a QB, Tua Tagovailoa or Justin Herbert perhaps?
  6. Los Angeles Chargers – This one I can’t read, do they stick with Tyrod Taylor at QB or bring in someone to compete for the starting job? Or do they go with help on the defense with LB Isaiah Simmons?

This brings me to the fact that 2 of the top 6 picks could be QB’s, and if Detroit trades away the #3 pick we could see three QB’s off the board within the top 6 picks. I think this is a likely scenario and one we want to put our money on. Justin Herbert has been rumored to go top 5 all the way to the late first round. Tua Tagovailoa has been picked top 5 to the early second round due to injury issues. Joe Burrow will be the first QB taken, period. But after Burrow, there is a good reason for both Tua or Justin to go second. Personally, I think Herbert will be a better fit in the NFL than Tua, but that isn’t what this pick is about.

The rumors connecting Herbert to the Miami Dolphins went into overdrive after ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. updated his mock draft and slotted Herbert going at No. 5 to the Dolphins with Tagovailoa being picked at No. 6 to the Los Angeles Chargers.

“There has been some buzz around Herbert to Miami, and it’s real. The 6-foot-6 signal-caller has a lot of supporters across the league, and they love his upside and traits. And Herbert doesn’t have the durability concerns that have a few teams worried about Tua Tagovailoa’s future,” wrote Kiper.

Most sportsbooks have moved the over/under line for the former Oregon quarterback, now sitting at 5.5, with a small shift from where Herbert opened as the No. 6.5 pick. I like those odds and will gladly take my chances at Justin Herbert draft position under 6 -135 (5dimes)

FOOTBALL! Exciting times cappers, let’s get some quarantine money for toilet paper and beer.
