Super Bowl Prediction – San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Super Bowl Prediction - San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

FINALLY! The Super Bowl is here. Fire up the BBQ, pack the fridge with your brewski of choice, get your excuse ready to call out of work tomorrow and most importantly – GET YOUR BETS DOWN! Sides, totals, props – it’s like Christmas Day all over again for my fellow degens. Let’s first take a look at our side play and finish with some of the props we will be on.

All week long I’ve heard one narrative for the big game – the Chiefs offense vs. the Niners defense. Can Mahomes and his speedy receivers move the ball against the stingy Niners defense? And our response is – Yes. In the last meeting between these two teams, the Chiefs did just that by winning 38-27, at home on September 23, 2018.

Kansas City

The Chiefs have averaged 419 ypg during this memorable postseason. head coach Andy Reid and his never say die comeback Chiefs are simply clicking on both sides of the ball right now. QB Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 615 yards, 8TDs, 0 INTs and added another 106 rushing yards in the playoffs so far. The Chiefs have been effectively running the ball as RB Damien Williams has contributed 92 total rushing yards and 3 TD’s to go along with 65 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD this postseason. With receiving options TE Travis Kelce (164 yards, 3 TDs), WR Tyreek Hill (108 yards, 3 TDs) and WR Sammy Watkins (190 yards 1 TD) all making significant postseason contributions the Chiefs have the weapons to spread the ball around.

San Francisco

No doubt the Niners have an impressive defense but have given up more than 100 yards on the ground in 11 of their 15 games this season. During their postseason run, LB Fred Warner leads the team with 13 tackles, while DE Nick Bosa (10 tackles) and Dre Greenlaw (10 tackles, forced fumble) will need to stop Williams and pressure Mahomes if the Niners are to get Jimmy Garoppolo and the offense on the field and control game tempo with their ground and pound offense.

Two great teams that deserve to be here, led by two tactical head coaches that know the X’s and O’s as good as any NFL coaches today should make for a great game. Right now I just feel the Chiefs are playing too good to be denied. I’ll take my chances with Kansas City Chiefs -118 to win straight up. Good luck cappers and enjoy the game.
