DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 3 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

Last week our 7 picks combined for 131.1 total DKFP (DraftKings Fantasy Points). Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray led the way with 33.1 DKFP. We were also very confident in Washington WR Terry McLaurin last week who delivered 28.5 DKFP. Importantly, several of our loyal readers had green screens in week 2. Now, let’s keep the winning going in our DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 3 Picks: Sunday Main Slate picks.

Top StackDallas Cowboys

QB Dak Prescott ($7,200) with WR Amari Cooper ($6,500)

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 3 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

The Dallas Cowboys take on the Seattle Seahawks in the highest projected game total (56.5 total points) on Sunday’s main slate. Prescott is coming off an amazing performance last week in which he threw for 450 yards and 1 TD while also rushing for three TD’s. Prescott rallied his team to victory and finished with a massive 43.8 DKFP. Next, Prescott gets a Seahawks defense that just allowed Cam Newton to score 38.6 DKFP in week two. Furthermore, Seattle has allowed a league-high 416 passing yards per game through the first two weeks of the season.

I prefer stacking Prescott with Cooper this week in GPP’s, as I sense Cooper will hold less ownership then wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Cooper has seen 23 total targets through the first two weeks, turning them into a 16-181-0 receiving line. While Cooper has yet to find the endzone in 2020, he has averaged 18.6 DKFP/GM. If Cooper does find the endzone, and at low ownership, he could be the X-factor that propels lineups towards the top of the leaderboards in GPP’s.

Running Backs

Austin Ekeler – Los Angeles Chargers ($6,800)

Ekeler has seen 20 combined touches in each of the Charger’s first two games of the 2020 season. While fellow running back Josh Kelley will undoubtedly continue to steal opportunities, Ekeler and his 5.1 yards per attempt get a glorious match-up with a Carolina Panthers defense that has allowed an insane 47.5 DKFP per game to opposing running backs in 2020. I expect the Chargers to lean on the running game this week with rookie QB Justin Herbert getting the start. Furthermore, it’s not as if Austin Ekeler has been phased out of red-zone work, seeing five touches to Kelly’s eight inside the 20-yard line.

Jerick McKinnon – San Francisco ($4,900)

McKinnon finds himself as the unquestioned RB1 in San Francisco with Raheem Mostert (knee) and Tevin Coleman (knee) both out this week versus the New York Giants. Although Jeff Wilson will get some touches, McKinnon showed he has the explosiveness to make big plays, finishing last week’s game with a 3-77-1 rushing line. In addition to being the lead back, this week’s match-up is against a Giants defense that has surrendered 138 rushing yards/GM and 23 DKFP/GM to opposing running backs. Give me McKinnon in GPP and Cash lineups this week.

Wide Receiver

Tyler Lockett – Seattle ($6,400)

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 3 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

First off, through the first two weeks of the 2020 season, Lockett has caught 15 of 16 targets for 159 yards and one touchdown. He is averaging an impressive 18.5 DKFP/GM. Secondly, he now faces a Dallas Cowboys defense that has allowed 268 passing yards/GM (8th most in the NFL) and an insane 45.8 DKFP/GM to opposing wide receivers in 2020. Lastly, the Cowboys will be thin in the secondary, with cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) and Anthony Brown (ribs) already ruled out and cornerback Trevon Diggs (shoulder) currently listed as questionable. As long as this game goes as Vegas projects it (56.5 point total) Lockett should be in for a big day. I expect high ownership for Lockett but will pay the chalk, especially in my Cash lineups.

Tight End

Logan Thomas – Washington ($3,700)

The former college QB turned NFL tight end has seen 17 targets through Washington’s first two games. Consequently, his massive volume has only resulted in an 8-63-1 receiving line to start the season. However, he now faces a Cleveland Browns defense that has allowed 25.4 DKFP/GM and three touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. At $3,700, Thomas does not need to do much to hit value. I’ll pay up at other positions and take my chances with Thomas at TE this week.

Defense

Philadelphia Eagles ($2,800)

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 3 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

The Eagles (0-2) are in desperate need of a win. Now they face rookie quarterback Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in week 3. The Bengals offensive line has allowed six sacks on the season (Tied for 7th most in the NFL). I expect the Bengals to have their hands full with the Eagles defensive front. Therefore, I’ll take my chances on a value defense in the hope they can rattle the young quarterback.

These are just some of the players we will have in our GPP and Cash lineups for DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 3 Picks: Sunday Main Slate. Good Luck, and may your screens go green.

Let us know what you think of our DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 3 Picks.

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 2 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

Week 1 is in the books and Tommy’s 10 picks last week totaled 109.4 DKFP with Russell Wilson leading the way with 34.8 DKFP. Speaking of Seattle, we suggested you stack with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, and they added a combined 32.7 DKFP respectively. Hopefully, you cashed some of your lineups with that stack. Now we turn our attention to week 2. Therefore let’s look at a few of the players we like this week in our DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 2 Picks: Sunday Main Slate preview.

Top Stack – Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray ARI $6,100 and Kenyan Drake ARI $5,900

Last week, Murray finished with a 230-1-1 passing performance and rushed for 91 yards and a TD against the 49ers, finishing with 27.3 DKFP. Despite finishing as the QB No. 6 on DraftKings, Murray has seen his price drop $300 for his week two match-up against The Washington Football Team. Washington’s defense is led by its ferocious defensive line (3rd best D-Line according to PFF). However their linebackers and secondary can easily be exposed in passing situations. Therefore, I am willing to gamble on Murray’s ability to escape pressure and create positive plays this week. Thus, his price of $6,100 on DraftKings is just criminal.

Furthermore, when it comes to stacking with Murray, I love the savings we get with Kenyan Drake this week. I know Drake only finished with 60 rushing yards and two receptions for five yards last week. However, he was able to find the endzone and finish with 14.5 DKFP versus the San Francisco 49ers stout defense. Drake’s price now drops $500 and he gets a much softer matchup against Washington. Interestingly, The Washington Football team has allowed the fourth-most DKFP per game to opposing running backs over the last 17 games (28.6 DKFP/GM). I know Washington only allowed 57 rushing yards last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, but to play devil’s advocate, Philadelphia was without three starting offensive linemen and their starting running back Miles Sanders sat out with a hamstring injury.

I’ll be stacking Drake alongside Murray this week, as it should theoretically give me exposure to the majority of the Cardinals points.

Running Back

Ezekiel Elliott DAL $8,200

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 2 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

Elliott was responsible for both Dallas Cowboys touchdowns last week against the Los Angeles Rams. He finished the game with a 22-96-1 rushing and 3-31-1 receiving performance, good for 27.7 DKFP respectively. Elliott now faces an Atlanta Falcons defense that allowed a combined 35.2 DKFP to Seattle running backs in week one. Vegas has this game currently sitting at 54 total points, which is easily the highest total on DraftKing’s main slate. With the high projected total and match-up against a bottom-tier defense, I am locking Elliott into my cash game lineups this week on DraftKings.

Wide Receivers

Terry McLaurin WAS $5,900

McLaurin hauled in five of seven targets for 61 yards (11.1 DKFP) last week against the Eagles. He is easily Washington’s best wide receiver, as his 22% target share is evidence of. Arizona has allowed the eleventh most DKFP per game to opposing wide receivers over the 17 games. Washington is expecting to play from behind in a game projected for 47.5 total points, therefore I plan on rolling out McLaurin in my Kyler Murray and Kenyan Drake stacks in GPP’s on DraftKings. Also, I’ll gladly take McLaurin in all formats this week.

Mike Williams LAC $4,200

First of all, Williams (shoulder) shocked everyone playing in week one versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Williams was expected to possibly miss two weeks but in spite of his injury, he finished with four receptions for 69 yards, resulting in 10.9 DKFP. Secondly, and even more surprising was he saw nine total targets to eight by WR1 Keenan Allen. Now the Chargers face the Kansas City Chiefs who allowed Will Fuller to collect eight receptions for 112 yards in week one. The Chiefs have some concerns in the secondary, with Bashaud Breeland (suspension) out and Charvarius Ward (hand) questionable. Finally, the Chargers likely will have to throw the ball to keep pace with Patrick Mahomes and company, I love the upside Williams carries at his modest $4,200 price tag on DraftKings.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith TEN $4,200

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 2 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

Smith finds himself atop the Tennessee Titans depth chart in 2020 after the Titans released Delanie Walker in the offseason. Smith saw seven targets in week one, which only happened once in 2019. And although he only managed four receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown (13.6 DKFP), his target shares seem to be trending up. Next up is a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that has allowed the eleventh most DKFP to opposing tight ends over the last 17 games (2019-2020). Take Jonnu if you’re waffling at the TE position this week in all formats.

Defense

Los Angeles Rams $2,800

The Rams defense may not have impressed statistically last week, managing only three sacks and no turnovers. But to be fair, it was against the high powered Dallas Cowboys offense. This week the Rams defense gets an Eagles offensive line that just allowed eight sacks to Washington in week one.

Philly RT Lane Johnson (ankle) should suit up after sitting out last week but starting LT Andre Dillard (biceps) and starting RG Brandon Brooks (Achilles) still remain on IR. Pressure on the quarterback leads to sacks and turnovers. Therefore Ram defensive ends Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers going against a makeshift offensive line, I am confident Los Angeles will achieve both sacks and maybe a few turnovers.

These are just some of the players we will have in our GPP and Cash lineups for DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 2 Picks: Sunday Main Slate. Good Luck, and may your screens go green.

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 1 Picks

Football is Back! We got a small taste Thursday as the defending champion K.C Chiefs took care of business against the Houston Texans 34-20. Now we get a full course this Sunday and our fantasy guru Tommy is ready to help you with your rosters. Without further ado, let’s get right into our DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 1 Picks.

TOP STACK – Seattle Seahawks

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 1 Picks

QB Russell Wilson, WR DK Metcalf, WR Tyler Lockett

The Atlanta Falcons host the Seattle Seahawks this week in a projected 49 point high scoring. These two teams met last year in Week 8, scoring a total of 47 points with Matt Schaub filling in for the injured Matt Ryan at quarterback. With Ryan healthy, I expect this rematch to stay competitive (unlike last year, when the Seahawks jumped to a 24-0 lead at halftime). Although Russell Wilson ($7,000) is the second most expensive quarterback on DraftKings this week, he is worth every penny, as his 21.5 DKFP/GM in 2019 is evidence of.

The Falcons ranked in the bottom half of the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns allowed in 2019, setting Wilson up for success through the air. The real question is who to stack with DANGER-Russ? In cash games, I am more likely to take DK Metcalf ($5,800) and allocate the extra $700 elsewhere. Metcalf was fantastic in his rookie year, hauling in 58 passes for 900 yards and seven TD’s.

I believe it’s only a matter of time until he is looked at as the No. 1 WR in Seattle. However, I prefer Tyler Lockett ($6,500) for GPP’s because I expect him to be much less owned than Metcalf. Furthermore, Locket caught all six of his targets for 100 yards in last year’s Week 8 matchup with Atlanta, finishing with 19 DKFP respectively. If this game stays competitive, Lockett could be in line for a huge game at potentially low ownership.

RUNNING BACKS

Miles Sanders PHI ($6,300)

Sanders (Lower Body) is expected to play against Washington and his price is way too low considering this matchup. Not only did Sanders go full beast mode in last year’s Week 15 matchup against Washington, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown but also catching six passes for 50 yards and another touchdown, finishing with 38.2 DKFP. With Jordan Howard (Dolphins) and Darren Sproles (Retired) out of the picture, Sanders is set to be the lead dog in Philadelphia’s backfield in 2020. Washington allowed the second-most rushing yards per game (146.2) and an abysmal 4.7 yards per attempt in 2019. I like Sanders in GPP and Cash lineups.

*DISCLAIMER- Always monitor the injury news leading up to game day. If Sanders is in fact ruled out pivot to his replacement Boston Scott ($4,800).

Marlon Mack IND ($5,300)

Although the Indianapolis Colts selected RB Jonathan Taylor with the No. 41 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Marlon Mack is still at the top of the depth chart. In two games versus the JAGS last year, Mack averaged 19.8 DKFP per game on 186 total rushing yards and three rushing TD’s. It is worth noting that he only received one target in the passing game over those two games and word from Colts camp is that Mack has looked good in the passing game thus far. If Mack can receive even a small increase in targets this year, he carries a massive upside at these prices.

WIDE RECEIVER

Odell Beckham Jr. CLE ($5,900)

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 1 Picks

First off, I know the Browns want to run Nick Chubb into the ground. Secondly, I know Jarvis Landry will continue to siphon targets. Lastly, I know the addition of Austin Hooper is another mouth to feed. However, the upside Odell Beckham Jr. has at $5,900 on DraftKings is phenomenal! All we are really looking for is maybe six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown (20 DKFP). Even after a down year, Odell ranked in the top ten in receptions of 20+ yards in 2019. The Ravens do have a tough defense, but they surprisingly released Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas, which could leave them vulnerable on the back end.

TIGHT ENDS

Jack Doyle IND ($3,600)

Jack Doyle is set to open as the Colts starting TE with Trey Burton (Calf) landing on the IR and Eric Ebron now catching passes from Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh. While the Jaguars are a middling matchup for opposing TE’s, Doyle has the privilege of catching balls from a quarterback known to target tight ends in Phillip Rivers. At $3,600 Doyle does not need much to pay off his price tag and if he finds the endzone he easily exceeds expectations.

Hayden Hurst  ATL ($4,300)

Austin Hooper and his 97 targets in 2019 flew the coup during free agency, therefore Atlanta traded for Hurst this past offseason. Hurst was behind Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle last year in Baltimore, however, he still managed to play on 41% of the Ravens offensive snaps and capped off the season with 30 catches for 349 yards and two scores. Hurst now finds himself as the unquestioned No. 1 tight end in Atlanta, with Matt Ryan as his QB and facing a Seahawks defense that ranked 29th against opposing tight ends in 2019. SIGN ME UP!

DEFENSE

Los Angeles Chargers ($2,800)

The Chargers are priced down versus the Cincinnati Bengals and rookie phenom QB Joe Burrow. The former Heisman winner and No. 1 overall draft pick certainly has the tools to be successful in the NFL, as his monstrous 2019 LSU campaign is evidence of (5,671 passing yards, 60 TD, 6 INT, 202 passer rating, 368 rushing yards, 5 rushing TD).

However, facing an NFL defense is a whole different story. While the Chargers defense did allow the highest completion rating in the NFL last year (70.7%), they did rank in the top ten in total passing yards allowed, total passing touchdowns allowed, and passing yards allowed per game. Burrow has plenty of weapons, notably WR’s A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd, but his offensive line is a major question mark. Therefore, I expect the likes of defensive ends Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram, who combined for 18.5 sacks last year, to have a field day against PFF’s 31st ranked offensive line.

Pressure leads to sacks and turnovers and sacks and turnovers reign supreme on DraftKings. Give me the Chargers against the rookie QB.

Miami Dolphins ($2,000)

The Dolphins are bare minimum price on DraftKings versus Cam Newton and the New England Patriots. Cam has looked good in camp but has been prone to turnovers throughout his career (108 INT, 25 FUM). Furthermore, this is not the same ole Dolphins team as in years past. Newly acquired players such as CB Byron Jones, LB Kyle Van Noy, and DE Emmanuel Ogbah should help improve a defense that allowed the 3rd most total yards per game (399 yards) in 2019. Therefore, give me the Dolphins defense in GPP’s this week on DraftKings.

NFC East: Division Odds and Win Totals for 2020

NFC East: Division Odds and Win Totals for 2020

First of all, the NFC East looks to be a two-team race between the 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles and a Dallas Cowboys squad loaded with talent. Hence, these two teams have won the division 13 out of the last 18 years and four straight. The New York Giants and Washington Football Team both have new head coaches heading into 2020. Thus, these new coaches will subsequently look to implement new systems within their respective rosters. In this NFC East Preview: Division Odds and Win Totals for 2020 we break down each team and give our futures betting picks.

Odds to win the Division

TEAMODDS
Dallas Cowboys-105
Philadelphia Eagles+140
New York Giants+900
Washington Football Team+1300

Dallas Cowboys

NFC East: Division Odds and Win Totals for 2020

The Dallas Cowboys are the current favorite to win the NFC East. The most notable offseason move was parting ways with head coach Jason Garrett who was replaced with Mike McCarthy. Dak Prescott will be the team’s QB regardless of ongoing contract issues. As an insurance policy, veteran QB Andy Dalton was bought in on a 1-year deal. First of all, the Cowboys will be fortunate to have a wealth of weapons on offense. First, Powerhouse running back Ezekiel Elliott and stud wide receiver Amari Cooper are back. Secondly, they drafted talented wideout CeeDee Lamb with its first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Lastly, third-year WR Michael Gallup is poised to take another step forward and build on his 66 receptions good for 1107 yards in the 2019 campaign.

Equally, Dallas also made a focus on the defensive side of the ball in the offseason. With the loss of DE Robert Quinn (11.5 sacks in 2019) and Michael Bennett (27 tackles in 2019) on the d-line, they added DT Gerald McCoy, DT Dontari Poe,  LB Aldon Smith and will get DE Randy Gregory back midseason.

Dallas is poised to have a great season if the injury bug stays away. I believe they have a coach that is more likely to open up the offense than in seasons past. Dak is ready to take his place as one of the games best QB’s. A top wide receiver group will accompany one of the leagues’ best-running backs.

Wagers

Dallas to win the division -105

Dallas over 9.5 wins -150

Cowboys to make the playoffs  -260

Philadelphia Eagles

NFC East: Division Odds and Win Totals for 2020

Power running back Jordan Howard is gone, fortunately all signs point to Miles Sanders ready to take over that role. Most importantly, QB Carson Wentz is healthy and the clear cut leader of this team. First-round pick WR Jalen Reagor should be ready in week 4 from a shoulder injury and offer Wentz an immediate weapon. Philly also drafted QB Jalen Hurts to be an exciting do-all option ala Taysom Hill out in New Orleans.

The Eagles defense, which was a liability for them last year saw the biggest overhaul. They lost S Malcolm Jenkins, CB Ronald Darby, DT  Timmy Jernigan, and LB Nigel Bradham. In fact, Philly upgraded their secondary by bringing in CB Darius Slay, CB Nickell Robey-Coleman, and S Will Parks. They also added DT Javon Hargrave, LB Jatavis Brown, as well as drafted S K’Von Wallace from Clemson.

Most importantly QB Carson Wentz will have healthy veteran receivers Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson to start the season. Philadelphia is the only team that can challenge Dallas for the division title. No way I’ll take them to win the division but I’ll gladly take the Eagles to cover the team win totals

Wagers

Philadelphia over 9.5 wins -110

New York Giants

Joe Judge, formerly on the staff of the New England Patriots for 8 seasons, is the new Giants head coach. QB Daniel Jones in his second season looks to build on his 3027 passing yards and 24 TDs from 2019. We all know that Saquon Barkley is an absolute stud at running back. In addition, New York added pass-catching speedy RB Dion Lewis to complement Saquon Barkley’s north-south rushing style.

The offensive line lost a key piece as OT Nate Solder opted out of the season. Although the Giants improved other positions along the o-line, the loss of Solder is cause for concern. The Giants subsequently drafted OT Andrew Thomas out of Georgia in the first round to help protect their young QB and open up lanes for Barkley. Hopefully, Thomas can mature quickly to help absorb the loss of Solder.

The Giants needed to fix up the secondary. Fortunately, they did just that by drafting safety Xavier McKinney out of Alabama in the second round. McKinney is a nice addition to Giants safeties Jabril Peppers, and  Julian Love.

New York improved the d-line by adding DT Leonard Williams and also solidified their LB corp by signing Kyler Fackrell and Blake Martinez. Furthermore, they resigned LB David Mayo who had 80 tackles for Big Blue in 2019.

A maturing QB along with workhorse RB accompanied by an improved defense should allow the Giants to collect enough wins to cover the 6 Vegas is going with.

Wagers

New York over 6 wins  -115

Washington Football Team

NFC East: Division Odds and Win Totals for 2020

Ron Rivera is Washington’s new head coach and brings a winning attitude along with discipline so desperately needed in D.C. This season will be all about Washington taking the next step in the process of developing its young core. QB Dwayne Haskins will start the season but veteran Alex Smith and former Panther Kyle Allen are waiting to step in if need be.  Talented WR Terry McLaurin looked great for Washington last season and should be exciting to watch in his second season. Similarly, Steven Sims, also in his second season, saw 56 targets in 2019 and is sure to grow in the offense in 2020. Furthermore, Washington drafted Antonio Gandy-Golden in the 4th round who could easily carve out a role in the receiver corp.

The backfield roles should come down to camp competition. Washington added former Buccaneer Peyton Barber, receiving back J.D. McKissic from Detroit, and drafted Antonio Gibson in the 3rd round to go along with Bryce Love who missed 2019 due to injury. Gone are Adrian Peterson and  Derrius Guice.

Washington had the second pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and went with Chase Young, a defensive end out of Ohio State and the player many considered the most talented player in the draft. Young, will play opposite DE Ryan Kerrigan and give Washington a legitimate pass rush presence.

A big concern is on the offensive line. Gone are veterans tackles Trent WilliamsDonald Penn, and Ereck Flowers. Washington did draft OT Saahdiq Charles out of LSU in the 4th round to contribute as an immediate impact player.

Washington brought in 5th year CB Kendall Fuller and 6th year CB Ronal Darby to help improve the secondary that lost CB Quinton Dunbar and said goodbye to veteran CB Josh Norman

Will the offseason issues the franchise endured (name change and sexual misconduct allegations) be a factor for the team’s on-field performance? I believe Rivera is the man who can keep focused on the field and prepare his team to play, however, this franchise is not ready to contend for the division title yet.

Wagers

Washington under 5 wins +100

Conclusion

Dallas has the upper hand to secure the NFC East. Philadelphia has a small outside shot at winning the division based on current rosters. The Giants are improving and growing but not ready to win the division. Washington still has a good new HC but not enough talent to compete for the division title.
