Last week our 7 picks combined for 104.2 DKFP (DraftKings Fantasy Points). New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara led the way with 22.8 DKFP. We were also very confident in the Washington Football Team defense last week who subsequently delivered our lineups 17.0 DKFP. Importantly, several of our loyal readers continued to have green screens in week 7. This week I really like the GPP tournaments on DraftKings. Therefore I will focus strictly on GPP picks only in this preview. Now, let’s keep the screens green with our DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 8 Picks: Sunday Main Slate lineup staples.

Top Stack – San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks

QB Jimmy Garoppolo ($5,400) with TE George Kittle ($7,000)

It should be noted the 49ers and Seahawks game is currently projected for 53 total points, the highest total on DraftKings Sunday main slate. The Seahawks are currently favored by three points. Importantly this game is expected to be a high scoring shootout, which is what we like when selecting game stacks.

Not only is Jimmy Garoppolo the third-cheapest quarterback on DraftKings but he also gets a match up with a Seahawks defense that has allowed a league-worst 27.9 DKFP/GM to opposing quarterbacks and an abysmal 369 passing yards per game. I understand that Garoppolo has not hit the 25 DKFP mark this year. However, this will be his first game against a bottom tier pass defense. The five games Garoppolo has started this year have been against tough opponents. The Patriots, Rams, Dolphins, Jets, and Cardinals, all rank in the top 16 in passing yards allowed. At his bargain price, Garoppolo is my favorite quarterback to roster in GPP’s this week by far.

When it comes to who I want to stack with Garoppolo it is hard to look past George Kittle. Although Seattle has been tough on opposing tight ends, allowing the third-fewest DKFP/GM (7.9) let’s be honest, Kittle is not your typical tight end. Kittle spends 17.5% of his snaps in the slot and therefore sees nearly 30% of his team’s targets in the passing game. For one thing, we have seen Kittle’s ceiling this year, as his 43.1 DKFP against the Philadelphia Eagles in week 4 is evidence of. Furthermore, with injuries to wide receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and running backs Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Jeff Wilson (knee), Kittle should be in line for a massive workload.

Let’s Keep It Going With…

DK Metcalf Seattle Seahawks $7,500

I know choosing between Metcalf and Tyler Lockett seems to be a crapshoot, I elect to roster Metcalf this week in my Garoppolo-Kittle stacks. First of all, Metcalf ranks third amongst wide receivers in air yards with 776, tied for fifth in touchdowns with 5 TD’s and is seventh in aDOT (average depth of target) amongst wide receivers who have seen at least ten targets (17.2 aDOT) this season. Secondly, in two games last year versus the 49ers, Metcalf had 12 receptions for 151 yards and 1 TD. Let’s hope after Lockett’s massive 56 DKFP last week, that Metcalf can be the one who produces this week against the 49ers.

Running Back

Kareem Hunt Cleveland Browns ($6,900)

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 8 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

With Nick Chubb (knee) expected to return in week 9, this could be the last week that Kareem Hunt is the workhorse running back in Cleveland. It couldn’t come at a better time, as the Browns face the Las Vegas Raiders who have allowed the second-most DKFP/GM to opposing running backs (32.4 DKFP/GM) this season.

Since taking over in week 5, Hunt has rushed for only 188 yards (63 rushing yards/GM). But it is worth noting that two of those three games were against the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers, who rank in the top three this year in rushing yards allowed per game. Hunt has been able to salvage his fantasy days by catching 8 passes for 64 yards and two TD’s the last three weeks, giving him a solid floor on DraftKings. Given the nature of the matchup, Hunt will be a GPP staple in my lineups this week.

Tight End

Drew Sample Cincinnati Bengals ($3,400)

Last week versus Cleveland, Sample saw 6 targets hauling in 5 good for 52 yards, resulting in 10.2 DKFP respectively. What stands out is that he was on the field with an impressive 97% snap share. Opportunity is sure to keep knocking again this week against a Tennessee defense that surrenders 15.4 DKFP/GM to tight ends. Again, this all about GPP roster construction.

Defense

Buffalo Bills ($3,300)

DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 8 Picks: Sunday Main Slate

The Bills defense produced last week, sacking Sam Darnold six times and picking him off twice, finishing with 14 DKFP. Even after a solid outing, the Bills have seen their price drop from $4,700 last week to $3,300 this week versus the New England Patriots. Patriot wide receivers Julian Edelman (knee) and N’Keal Harry (concussion) have already been ruled out. Furthermore, offensive linemen Justin Herron (ankle), Shaq Mason (calf), and Joe Thuney (ankle) are all questionable. I suspect the Bills defense could be in line for a solid day against Cam Newton, who is no stranger to turning the ball over (7 INT and 1 FUM in 5 games started this season).

These are some of the primary players we will have in our GPP lineups for DraftKings NFL 2020 Week 8 Picks: Sunday Main Slate. Good Luck, and may your screens always be green.
